TIDO Art Space

Location

TIDO Art Space is located at No. 346 Zhongshan North Road, within the Lao Xue Tang Creative Park, a key area in Nanjing. To the south lies Bazishan, serving as a natural barrier to the Yangtze River. To the north stands Shizishan with the scenic Yuejiang Tower. To the west is Yijiang Gate, part of the majestic Ming City Wall, and to the east is the former Naval Academy, known as the Jiangnan Naval School, where the renowned writer Lu Xun studied in his youth.

Harmony of Interior and Exterior

TIDO Art Space (hereafter referred to as "TIDO") stands as the first building at the entrance of the Lao Xue Tang Creative Park. The structure is named "Tuisilou" (Retrospection Pavilion), a title inscribed by the esteemed Chinese calligrapher Mr. Wu Guobao from the National Art Museum of China. The exterior exudes a classic charm, with lush green lawns and vibrant flowers flanking the corridors, earning its reputation as a "secret garden" hidden within the city. Adjacent to Tuisilou is an exquisite Republic-era general’s villa of unique design and intricate elegance, encapsulating the quintessential features of Nanjing's "mountains, water, city, and forests

Cultural and Geographical Significance

The area where TIDO is located is often referred to as the "Northern Gateway of Jinling (Nanjing)," serving as a prominent window blending the historic charm of an ancient capital with the vibrancy of modern civilization. It boasts a rich atmosphere of cultural and artistic exchange.

Interior Space Design of TIDO

The first floor of TIDO is thoughtfully designed to include various functional areas, such as an artist's studio space, the Tea & Guest Lounge ("Ming Yue Hui Ke Guan"), and an art gallery corridor.

Art Gallery Corridor" Exhibits

The "Art Gallery Corridor" serves as a dynamic space showcasing a rotating collection of artistic works. This includes traditional Chinese paintings, modern and contemporary art pieces, calligraphy, and photography. The exhibits are carefully curated to highlight the intersection of cultural heritage and innovative creativity, providing visitors with an immersive visual and cultural experience as they explore the corridor.
